Throwback Thursday

These pictures were taken in early March on a family vacation to Barbados. It was a beautiful time and place. With all the hectic end of the school year events going on, I wish I  was on “Island Time” right now.

Now, lets talk about this shirt! Mihara Yasuhiro is a Japanese designer. Mihara Yasuhiro first made his name in footwear. In 1998 he opened his first store in Tokyo, where he developed his casually disheveled and staunchly urban style. Designing for both men and women, Yasuhiro provides an alternative angle on style that is thoughtful, intellectual and accomplished. The men’s line is much bigger; the women’s line is hard to find. When I was sent this shirt in December from Jeffrey Atlanta New York, I did not realize what a collectors item it is, I say that not because of a high price, but rather exclusivity.

Mihara Yasuhiro’s women’s  line  is know for bold shapes and dramatic proportions that create a very modern look. I have also enjoyed wearing this shirt with darker pants, as it gives the shirt lines a more dramatic edge because of the contrasting colors.

The front of the shirt is a knit cotton ( tee shirt) and the back is is woven cotton (poplin shirt).
